Band steering took one of my TP range extenders and wouldn’t allow it to extend the 2.4 network to my generator.

NoahsARK At least on Frontier fiber you don't have to.

I want to pin devices or set a preference so they connect to the closest eero. Band steering is great, but devices connect to weak signals, say after a eero update.  I then have to separately reboot eeros in a certain order so they connect to a stronger signal

Would really love to be able to see what items are blocked, sites, attack attempts.

I would love to see the feature where I can see what activity is actually happening on my network such as sites visited, applications used. This would be awesome for professionals and would widen the number of companies that could use your equipment.

I do not have the latest devices on my network -- a few years old on average. Performance is more stable with eero but not any faster than before installation. I enabled some beta functions (WEP3 and Local DNS caching). Seems snappier while browsing different pages on a domain. Enabling option Band steering hangs up page loading. Could not disable it on my iPad 5 (switch kept bouncing back on). Had to disable with iPhone 8. (I don't believe there are any WEP3 compatible devices.)

Clinically Speaking Clicking on each device in the eero dashboard, I see that all but one is WEP3 and all are using WiFi 5 at closest location. So the beta Band steering feature is unnecessary.

anyone had problem with DNS caching feature in last version 6.1.0 using home assistant installed as HASSIO (Docker)? I had problem of routing in this case (packets stops on gateway of eero). to solve it I had to disable it! It could be related to problem of NAT using Docker?

I have now turned off all beta features, as it they have recently caused my Lutron Smart Switch to not be able to connect to the network, as well as my FireTV stick!  Think that would be tested since Eero is an Amazon company.

What happened to Smart Queue Management?  I found out about this 2+ months ago and it solved the issues I was having on zoom & teams calls.  It made a huge difference and I never had any more issues until this morning.  I took at look at my eero app and SQM is no longer listed under eero labs?  Why?  This provided a nice QoS option to video and voice calls.  Please bring it back.

Feedback on the beta test of WPA3 security: When I turned this feature on, both  my Apple TV units (3rd Generation) were disconnected from the network and I was unable to reconnect them unless/until the feature was turned off.

laurie I just bought the lastest Apple TV+ and it’s fine.  Did you try rebooting the Eero network

laurie 3rd gen doesn’t work with WPA3 because Apple never released an update to support WPA3. This is common for older devices.

cMoo92 The new devices are working.  I guess talking to Apple Support, might help rectify the issue.  It's  not a eero bug IMHO

KirkNason correct, newer Apple devices work just fine because they have newer hardware and software updates. Older devices (like the Apple TV 3rd gen, older iPads, and other devices from different manufacturers) don’t support WPA3.

cMoo92 but they should connect WPA2 instead. Have many TP-Link, Epson Printer, Samsung TVs, Bond Hub and many other devices that work.  So going back to my comment above, probably should open tickets with the Vendor of those items.

KirkNason Apple is probably not going to commitment time or effort to VIN/OBS products that aren't working with wireless standards that have not been released yet. Having said that, I am running tvOS 7.6 on ATV 3rd gen and my Eero network is setup with WPA3 enabled and the ATV 3rd gen connects just fine.

Might want to check and see if any switches in use need to be reset. I had that happen with an unmanaged  switch. Powercycling it resolved my connectivity issues on 2 new iMac 27inch 5k Retinas. Go figure.

Honestly I think its a really bad system. How is it that I have a 1400sqft 2 floor house and I have the main router in the second floor in the center of the house and a added beacon on the first floor in the center of the house.yet I still have dead spots 6ft away from the extender. This is horrible I pay $110 a month for 1gb of speed and In certain rooms I’m only getting 5mb how is this possible.

David17 First paying for 1gb is a waste of money.  200mb is what I have and I have ~60 WiFi devices on my eero network.  This includes three streaming devices and a XBOX.  Rather than put them inline with each other,  put one in the front and one further back in the house to start.  Or try to put a second  beacon towards the back of your first floor.   Dispersed is better.
Also do you have a third party router in front of your eero?  If so, ditch it.  You are creating to many hops in your network.
