GRE Protocol 47 (VPN) through EERO

Hello All,

I'm trying to make a connection to a VPN Server through an EERO router. I have port 1723 opened and forwarded, but its not connecting. I don't see an option for the GRE Protocol 47, which is why its failing.

PPTP: To allow PPTP tunnel maintenance traffic, open TCP 1723.  To allow PPTP tunneled data to pass through router, open Protocol ID 47

Everything I read says VPN passthrough is supported, but I don't see an option to enable and passthrough the GRE protocol.

What am I missing?

    Hello,

I apologize, PPTP is not a supported standard with eero. However, eero does support L2TP/IPSEC.

    Thank you,

    James

Good to know!  Is this something that will be added in the future. Most routers support PPTP passthrough.

      Hello,

I was not able to verify if PPTP is a setting that we would be adding in the future. However, I did verify that it is an older standard and most likely would not be added. You can submit a feature request to support@eero.com requesting that eero support PPTP though and we will get it escalated up for review and consideration.

      Thank you,

      James
