Eero with multiple switches

My configuration was set up with a couple switches connected serially.  Something like the following:

modem - eero pro - switch - switch

I was having intermittent problems with several different symptoms.  Usually all wired devices would drop from the network.  Spent a lot of time working with Cameron in support and he helped me get this corrected. The problem is having 2 switches connected serially.  I think he also mentioned something about a switch loop.  All is working well and I'll keep an eye on it for a few weeks.

 

The reason I had 2 switches was to extend the network to my home office.  First switch is sitting next to the gateway eero.  2nd switch is sitting in the office for several devices to be wired (laptop, desktop, etc).

Would the following be a better way to do it?

modem - eero pro - switch - eero pro - switch

In this scenario, I would run ethernet from the first switch to the office, terminating at another eero, which would then be connected to the switch in the office.  Thoughts?  I am building a small office shed outside and want to run ethernet out there.

    I'm having the same issue. I have wired together:

    modem - gateway eero pro 6 (downstairs) - switch (downstairs) - switch (upstairs) - eero pro 6 (upstairs)

    Another eero pro 6 is connected wirelessly.

    Thing is, it was all working great until 2 days ago. Now the wired upstairs eero refuses to connect via ethernet, only wirelessly. And other wired devices arent showing as connected. I've only had the eero's for 2 weeks and this is frustrating. Also getting no response from eero support.

    What did you do to fix your issue korikih ? Just take the switches out of serial?

       I worked with eero support a lot.  I was pleased that the folks in support know their stuff and were helping me troubleshoot.  I've moved things around and consolidated down to one switch and haven't had this issue again.  I'm not sure why this was happening, and I don't know exactly what a switch loop is.  I don't think it should be happening, but if you eliminate one switch, it seems to work as expected.

       thanks for responding. After much trial and frustration, turns out I had a faulty ethernet cable between the two switches. Got a new cable and put the switches back in serial and everything works perfectly. They might have updated eero's to better support the configuration since you were having your issue, maybe try serial switches again now.
