Eero wi fi not visible as available network

I am trying to use a Rosewill Wireless N USB adapter model RNX-N250UBE. It shows all available networks in area but not my named eero network. What it does show is 2 un named networks with BSSID that seem to match my Eero unit except the last 2 digits do not correspond to the 3 wifi BSSID A,B,C listed under Advanced in the app. When I used a much older USB wireless adapter (only wifi Band G) it showed my named Eero wifi signal right away. Anyone know why this newer adapter is showing different BSSID and not my named network? Thanks.

  • That wireless adapter is 2.4GHz only, so it might have trouble seeing your network initially (especially if you have band steering enabled in eero Labs). In the app, go to Settings > Troubleshooting > My device won’t connect and pause 5Ghz temporarily. This should let your device see and connect to the network.

  • Here is screen shot from Rosewill software. The BSSID starting with 98 are definitely from eero but as you can see no name and the last 2 digits although close to the  BSSID does not correspond to the actual BSSID it shows for A,B and C on the actual eero. Thanks.

  • Is this on an eero 6? If so, you might need to update your WiFi drivers to see a WiFi 6 network. For instance some Intel WiFi adapters on windows behave exactly as described unless updated.

  • Unfortunately the RNX250 is an old adapter only 2.4G capable as is the RNX-150 but the 150 saw the network while the 250 did not. Maybe the 250 is bad? Anyway I installed a Ubit AX WiFi 6 WiFi Card Dual Band 3000 Mbps AX200 PCIE Wireless WLAN WiFi Card with Bluetooth 5.1 | MU-MIMO| OFDMA| Ultra-Low Latency. The PC now sees the sigal with no problem. Thanks
