Wireless Backhaul Speeds

I have 4 Eero Pro 6 devices. All connected via wireless backhaul. Is there a way test the speed between the devices? If not, that'd be a great feature to have in order to help determine optimum placement.

    Hello,

eeros do not have a dedicated backhaul, they use all available wifi channels and algorithms to identify what the best means of transmitting data will be. There is currently not a way to test the speed between eeros. If you would like, and when you have time, you can email support@eero.com requesting this feature be added to the app as a feature request.

    Thank you,

    James Wilcox

James Wilcox Oh, that's news to me. I thought the tri-band Pro models had one 2.4GHz band and two 5GHz bands with one of the 5s dedicated to backhaul? At least, that's what I remember reading 3 years ago when I got my eero Pro 2nd gen system. That's was never the case?

Mgreer316 Nope.  Never the case.  It's why Orbi is so terrible... dedicated backhaul is a single point of failure... if that band is bad... that node loses connectivity.  Eero uses all bands for clients and backhaul.

txgunlover makes a good point. eero's system was designed to use the best possible connection at any given moment. So the only dedicated backhaul that can be established with eeros is through a wired connection.

      Thank you,

      James
