FIOS Internet - Bridge Mode
I have 1G Fios Internet Service and I'm currently using Eero in bridge mode with the Verizon Router plugged into the Optical box (ONT). I pay for 500Mbps service and the eero base unit speed test consistently passes 512Mbps Download and 576Mbps upload via its hardware ethernet port. All the wirelesses devices in the house easily get decent 200Mbps+ connectivity.
I would like to cut the cord and cancel my TV service with Verizon. Use internet only.
I removed the Verizon Router completely, I take the eero out of bridge mode, and I plug the ethernet from the ONT directly into the Eero ethernet port. The eero gets a verizon supplied IP address and successfully links up. But the max speed test from the hardwired eero device is exactly 100Mbps up and 100Mbps down. And the wireless devices only get around 20Mbits max.
For now, I put the Verizon Router back into place and run the Eero in bridge mode so that I can get the 500M+ that I pay for.
I suspect the eero is not auto negotiating at 1G and instead connect to FIOS ONT at 100M. I do not see a way to set an ethernet port in eero to 1G to force it. Both soft reset and hard set have not resolved.
Anyone else having issues running the Eero with FIOS while not using bridge mode and getting a max of 100Mbps of service?

If you haven’t tried using a different Ethernet cable between your ONT and and the eero, I would try that first. I’ve seen plenty of other posts of people connecting their eeros directly to their ONTs without issue.

I had Verizon reset the ONT. Resolved the Issue. I also installed a Motorola MoCA adapter so my Verizon set top boxes could be on the network without the Verizon Router.
