Will the new Eero Pro 6 support Apple’s HomeKit in the future?

When I click on “Setup HomeKit” in the Eero app->Discover section, I only get a spinning circle that never ends. This happens on both my iPhone 12 and iPad Pro running iOS/iPadOS 14.6. ☹️

Oscar Gidas The solution is to temporarily disable "Thread" support in the eero app (Settings tab > Network Settings > Thread > off).  After that, the "Set up HomeKit" button will work.  Afterwards, you can re-enable Thread.  I realize that my post is 5 months too late for you, but I'm posting this for folks who might have stumbled onto this discussion sometime later.

lifjoy Thanks! That worked. It took me about 5 tries to add my Eero AP’s to HomeKit but it finally worked on my iPhone.

On a side note,  I’ve noticed that I had to turn off Eero’s Ad Blocking feature to get ESPN/ABC streaming to work on my network too. It’s a shame we have to keep disabling features to avoid other issues.

By chance did you find a solution?

No. Issue is still happening with iOS 14.7.1 on my iPhone 12.

No response from Eero Pro's & Beacon in the Home app on a Mac mini (M1 2020) running macOS Monterey 12 Beta (21A5304g).  Happy to troubleshoot to help Eero team resolve this issue for us.

I have one Circle View camera on Pro 6 network. Just spent half the day working with eero support and Apple but could not add another.

Question on this...I currently have the Eero Pro 2nd gen and have the routers added to my HomeKit and HomeKit enabled in the Eeero app.  Was going to upgrade to the  Pro 6E and I see that it does not support HomeKit.

When they say this, does it mean it just does not provide the additional security for HomeKit devices or does it mean that HomeKit will not work at all with the Eero Pro 6E?

mikegoldnj this has been discussed a lot on Reddit. The Eero Pro 6E is hardware incompatible with Apple HomeKit, and will not support HomeKit, ever. Considering the fact that only Eero and Linksys were the only router vendors supporting HomeKit, and Linksys also not guaranteeing HomeKit support in upcoming routers, your options are very limited.

Richard1864 Sorry if I seem obtuse on this.....are you saying that HomeKit devices will no longer function at all on an Eero 6E network or that the Eero 6E will just no longer support the additional security provided on the older versions?

mikegoldnj The only thing that's not supported by eero 6+ and Pro 6E is HomeKit Secure Router, which is the additional security features you mentioned. There's no other change between models in terms of HomeKit interoperability, so HomeKit should otherwise work normally.
