Why do all my eero's operate on the same channels?

I have 5 eero's (the wifi 5 version, model J01001, whatever the proper name for that model is). They are all connected via Ethernet. Every single one of them uses channel 1 for 2.4GHz, and channel 161 for 5GHz, even though there must be overlap in their broadcast range. Is this by design? I would have thought it would cause a lot of interference.

Are you in bridge mode?  If you're not in bridge mode, then those are the most optimal channels chosen by the extensive logic in the eeros.

If you're in bridge mode, those are default channels.

I might add that there are no other competing networks in my area.

No, I’m not in bridge mode. I can’t see how all 5 eero’s using the same channels can be optimal.

sddawson It's to preserve smooth client handoffs among other reasons and since eero is managing the entire channel it's very optimal.

txgunlover Interesting. First I’ve seen anything work that way. Thanks.
