Vodafone UK FTTP (full fibre) help article needs updating

The article about setting up an Eero with Vodafone needs updating. 
 

Anyone with a openreach modem ont can simply unplug the wireless modem router supplied by Vodafone and plug their Eero into the openreach modem ont directly. 

Removing the Vodafone supplied modem router reduces electrical noise and saves space and electricity.
 

Vodafone support will provide a PPPoE username and password. The vLAN should be set to 101.

 

One issue I noticed is that the username that Vodafone provided is slightly wrong. It should take the form xxxxxxxxx@broadband.vodafone.co.uk until you supply the correct PPPoE username and password your Eero cannot connect to the internet.

       On iOS it is in settings > ISP Settings.

      Turn Uplink VLAN on.

      I've been running without the Vodafone router for the last 4 months without any problems.

       Got what I need from VF now  (I think). Username had 'dsl' at the beginning... old protocol!

      Just need to be sure it'll work on Openreach FTTP ONT.

      On a related note, I want to try out with just one 6+,If it's not enough to cover the house can I just buy one more? I'm not going to need 3 units!

    2 follow up qustions:

     

    1. Are you plugging into an Openreach FTTP ONT?
    2. Who/where in VF did you ask for your PPPoE username and password? I'm stuck on Chat with somebody who I'm not convince knows what I'm even asking for!

    Hmm, something's not right.

     

    Got username and password from VF which was sent by text. Password started with “-?” This is the relevant bit of the text: 
     

    Your 3rd party router details are -?

    Username - dsl**************@broadband.vodafone.co.uk

    Password-?********

    I’ve tried putting with the ? first. It didn’t work, and the if I adjust and try to Save Changes nothing happens. The screen in the app doesn’t change / it just kinda hangs. The blue button doesn’t even acknowledge it’s been pressed. Occasionally the app will back out to the previous screen and I’m  asked to Apply Settings but nothing happens.

    Have done a hard reset a number of times but to no avail. Currently have Eero plugged into the back of the VF hub which is what’s connected to the modem.

     

    any thoughts?
