Improve eero wifi for older devices

I have a eero base and 3 beacons on a 4600sqft 3 story home.

The wifi works fine for TVs, game systems, etc. We have some older laptops, and more recently, Chromebooks from school and they don't work quite well with those devices.

My base station is inside the laundry, inside the "smart" panel I have in my home. From there I plug in the cable that comes from Windstream and the other cable goes to my switch that distributes to the CAT-5 jacks around the house.

The wifi seems to be the biggest struggle, so, not sure if I need to relocate the base station? The eero beacon is very close to the office where the Chromebook is and very close to where one of the TVs is.

If the gateway eero is stuffed away in a cabinet, that likely hurts it signal significantly. 3 cupcakes are rated for 5k sq ft when all placed optimally. I would try adding another node and adjusting placement to the rooms where devices are most active. If the Chromebooks are 5Ghz capable, make sure you have Band Steering enabled so it will favour 5Ghz connections.
