Gaming Mode (Dec 2021)

Gaming while “Optimized for Conferencing and Gaming” has been an absolute nightmare the past 2-3 weeks. Rubber-banding, packet loss, frame drops occur constantly while playing on a PS5.

    I would like to help you start troubleshooting to identify the cause of the behavior you are experiencing. Can you please provide the topology of your network? Can you please identify how your PS5 is connected to your eero network and which eero it is connected to in the topology? 

    Some things you can check before replying would be to see if you have any updates for the eeros by going into Settings -> Software Updates, try forgetting and rejoining the eero network, and try soft resetting your Gateway eero. I have provided a link below that will help you go through the soft reset steps.

  • PS5 is hardwired to a network switch, which is connected to eero. Cat 8 Ethernet cables are used for all hardwired connections. 
     

    Eero software is up-to-date. 
     

    Issues persist after soft reset.
