eero transmitting power
i'm from Germany. I know that the eero system is not released in germany (yet) and the us-version isn't certified for use in germany. nevertheless i bought a set of 2 eeros and i would like to know, regardless of the other technical restrictions like the power supply, if the eero is sending with more power as allowed in germany? In Germany the maximum allowed wlan transmitting power is 100 mW and in the US you can use up to 1000 mW - so, as far as i know, if the eero only transmits with max. 100 mW i could possibly use it. if not, it's illegal.
i know it's beyond warranty and not supported, but maybe you can tell me something about that?
This discussion on Reddit (which includes responses by an actual eero employee) indicates that it would be illegal for you run eero in Germany:
well, thanks. maybe it's safer to wait for a possible international version/rollout, then.
one addition or an appeal. please release eero in europe. i think it's a great system, and i believe, after i used some of the competitors products, eero's still the best system (technology- and app-wise)
Hi acidwords —
You can find all the technical information on eero here.
I'm happy to pass along your feedback to our team. While we don't have any official timelines to share regarding an international version/release of eero, we are always happy to hear the interest and will continue to work towards it.
