XBOX ONE - ipv6 -eero 6 pro

I am aware it says contact Xbox but believe me their website is such a loop back to the same place. I have the eero 6 pro and I have such a headache with ipv6 not registering on my Xbox yet I have it enabled in the app. I've disabled it and have found it gives me faster dl speeds.as well, I have also found the band steering does the exact opposite of what I hoped it would do.

    Hello David ,

IPv6 is only going to be useful if your ISP supports IPv6. About 99% of users do not need internal IPv6 as IPv4 will have more than enough IP addresses for every device they have.

Band steering just delays the response from the 2.4GHz connection response to devices so those devices have time to receive and accept the 5GHz connection response. Out of curiosity, what were you expecting it to do? We might have another feature that meets that desire.

James thank you for your response! My ISP provides it, I'm just trying to stop the lag issue with my console. And for band steering I was hoping you could basically set a threshold that would allow you to meter specific connections individually. When I enable band steering I notice a direct effect on my Xbox. With band steering enabled ( I am using a 5ghz connection) my download was running at 50-60 Mbps. At the exact times I would disable it, it would increase to around 120-140 Mbps.

      Hello David ,

Ahhh yeah you're looking for an SQM type service. That is very strange that disabling band steering is affecting your download speeds. You're sure your XBox was staying connected to 5GHz when you did this? You might want to give our support a call so we can take a look at the network and the XBox.
