2 floors away
Hi,
I'm considering purchasing the eero and beacon for my apartment situation. I live in a SF Bay Area (Oakland) apartment and my sister lives in the same building but 2 floors down. If I were to put the eero in my apartment and the beacon in her apartment, will she have a decent internet connection?
The building is old (1960s). Prob made of steel and concrete between floors.

I would be very surprised if you could pull that off. There are building materials and metal between you and your sister's apartment that is two floors down. WiFi isn't going to penetrate that IMHO.

Hi Andyshi2000 —
Thanks for writing in and for your question!
Unfortunately, this probably wouldn't work. However, you can try it if you'd like.
In order for eeros to communicate, they need to be 40-50 feet within another eero. While that may be the distance between the two apartments (if they're stacked), getting a healthy connection through two floors of building materials may be tough.
I hope this helps! Thanks again.
