Question about placement

I know that the recommendation is that eeros should be within 40 feet of each other. My question is, for optimal performance, should they be within 40 of the primary, or just with 40 feet of another eero. 

My office is at the far end of my house. This is where my home lab resides that I use for work, and where all of my network equipment is. I have four eeros running in bridge home connected to a Ubiquiti Edgerouter.

The closer you get to my office the better and more responsive the network is. Speed tests are fine throughout the house. It seems like it more of a latency issue than a bandwidth problem. I could move the modem, router, and primary eero closer to the middle of the home, but I'm trying to avoid that if possible so I don't have to do a bunch of recabling for my home lab. If I'm going to do that I may as well just install a few drops throughout the house and hard wire all the eeros if that would help.

What is my best option here? Hard wire my eeros? All of the eeros are within 40 feet already, so I'm not sure there's much I can do with placement other than move the primary if that would help.

Suggestions are much appreciated.

    Thanks for reaching out and for this great question!

    eeros should just be within 40 feet of one another. The best way I can describe it is if you had a home that was a straight line, you'd put your second eero 40 feet from the gateway (primary) eero and the third eero 40 feet from that one. That third eero would then be 80 feet from the gateway. I hope that helps 😀

    As for what you should do, that is entirely up to you. There are other potential factors at play, such as interference from electronic devices, building materials, and other structures within the home. If you haven't yet, you may want to try adjusting placement, eliminating as much line of sight interference as possible.
