Mac screen share

I have 2 eero beacons in my house. If I iMac is connected to one beacon and the laptop is connected to another beacon then how come I cannot screen share? Is this a problem with eero? I just bought it from Amazon so I can return it if that is the case.

  • No problems here screen sharing one iMac with another one and while both are connected wirelessly to different eero nodes. I'd double check sharing permissions and your firewall configuration on both devices.

  • This isn’t an eero problem. I screen share between Macs in my house all the time. First thing, if you setup the guest network in addition to the main network, make sure both Macs are connected to the main network. Secondly, your network devices now have new IP addresses since you switched over to eero, so if you’re trying to connect through screen share using just the computer name, it might not work right away. You can use the IP address of the Mac you’re trying to connect to instead of the computer name and that should do the trick.
