Recommendations for fan coolers for Eero Pro?
Hi! I just bought and installed, and enjoying my first full day using Eero Pro and Beacon. I I have the Eero Pro on a wooden desk, with the modem 2 ft away, and nothing blocking it etc. - air flow on all sides except of course downwards from the desk. And also, except that the desk is wood and I think its causing it to heat up more. Well I know the Eero does run warm but I want to make sure that I'm not compromising my investment too soon and try to keep it as cool as is possible. I"m thinking to manage the heat I'll turn off the network while I'm out and also buy fans.
I'm looking on Amazon, what have you guys used for fans? The smallest I could find that might fit underneath are notepad cooling pads. Any recommendations?

My recommendation is not worry about it, but to each his own. I was one of the first people to get the eero units and my three originals are still working just fine 4 years later. I even have had a Beacon running in my garage (triple digit temps during the summer) for a couple years with no issues. Also, eeros are smart enough to reduce power consumption (and thus generate less heat), when there is less network activity, so turning off your network when you’re away is likely not going to help much.

In addition to what cMoo92 said... eeros are designed to evacuate internal heat via the top of the unit so they feel extremely warm by design since that's where the heat escapes. The degree of heat by touch should be similar to a laptop sitting directly on your lap and in use for a few hours.
The small built in feet are designed to lift the eero off your desk providing sufficient air flow - that's why eero wants them placed on a flat surface. Raising them any higher with add on feet is unnecessary.
Adding a small fan nearby risks interfering with the eero's antennas and turning your network off for any length of time means your network will never be optimized as it takes as much as a week for the mesh to determine best channel selection and best routing decisions.

Hmm all good points....not even fans underneath? I just sort of wonder if my desk is a bad place for it. But its the only place for it unfortunately. What if I elevate it but don't run fans? And would an cooling pad with aluminium be a good heat dissipitator (the cooling pad will not be run, but the eero would be placed on top of it)

On more tip I learned from one of eero's lead devs.... if practical, place your eeros flush with the front edge of the desk or cabinet they're sitting on. It can make a small but noticeable improvement in the antennas broadcast pattern (and speeds for wifi connected clients to that eero)
