Lightwave Link Plus hub won't work with Netgear Switcher

Hi

I have an Eero mesh wi fi system. I don't know how to say which model I have, but it is a basic 3-pack system which I bought in January 2021.

I have a problem which is that I want to use the Lightwave Plus hub with it. The gateway Eero has only two ethernet ports, one is plugged into my Virgin router, which is in "modem mode". The other ethernet port is used for a simple unmanaged 8 way Netgear switcher.

The Lightwave Link Plus hub won't work with that Netgear switcher. It will work if I plug it into the single available ethernet port on the eero unit, but then, of course I can't use my computer with the ethernet connection.

Is there any solution to this?

Thank you.

I am just replying to my own question to say that I have discovered the Lightwave hub works plugged into another Eero I have in my living room. I had thought it would need to be plugged into the gateway one, but no, it seems to be fine in one of the others. It has only been working for a few mins now, so I am touching wood that it continues to work okay.

      Hello Fitz Blitz ,

Sounds good. I was going to suggest contacting the Lightwave hub manufacturer to identify another unmanaged switch that would support the device, but if it setup works for you then don't worry about it as you can save some money.
