Jeff C. So the latest update says it has supper for ipv6.  I'm not really sure what this is so I'm wondering if I should be enabling it or not.  If it matters, I'm on FIOS, not in Bridge.

      lgreenberg thanks for your question!

If Fios uses IPv6, you may want to enable it. For more on IPv6, I recommend taking a look at our latest blog post.

Jeff C. How do I determine if FIOS uses it?

lgreenberg it doesn’t look like it is supported at this time (https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/getting-started/learn-about-ipv6), but it might be worth checking with Fios to see if your area is currently supported.

Jeff C. That's right, Jeff. You made the update appear like magic just a couple hours after I wished it.

Ok.. I wish, I wish, I wish my mortgage was paid off. (poof).....

Don’t forget to not only update your eero, but also update the eero software so that the IPv6 option appears. I just did the IPv6-test.com and got 18 out of 20. For me, the two things lacking are, 1) Get a reverse DNS record, 2) Use IPv6 as your default. Neither of which I currently know how to correct.

Have looked back at eero updates since Feb 2016. My oh my, things have come a long way. Weekly updates have graduated to 4-6 week updates. Stability excellent. Hardware excellent. Support excellent. Eero Plus strong, speedy and does its job.

Evidence of a company fully committed to updating its customers when it needs to. My four eeros and one beacon plugged in for the long run. Yay for eero !

cotedan87 Agree - a measured pace of updates is a good thing for developers and customers alike.

My remaining gripe is that the Eero Plus report is pretty worthless, reads more like a marketing email than a report that helps me have a more secure network.

Danabw what is it that you’d like to see in more details in the eero Plus report ?

cotedan87 I've posted on this before - I'd like to know things like:

       - What threats have been blocked (by name) and when (day/time)

      - What clients on the network accessed the web site or resource that resulted in the need for the block so I can tell if I'm the doofus going to dangerous sites/clicking on dangerous links, or my son, or my wife, etc.

      - Recommendations (behavioral or technical) to improve the security of my network - I know Eero Plus is going to try to block things, but the best results are when fewer instances needing a block occur

Stuff like above. Right now the report is so high level it provides nothing of use, and as I said seems more oriented towards making me feel that my $100 isn't going to waste. That's fine, but I want the finer details and useful info like what I refer to above.

Danabw makes sense. I’m glad to have the protection but can see your point on wanting to know how your system is being protected. Lots of iOT and other devices here, so might be nice to know if they’re being poked from the outside.
