Eeros with Static IP Address Go offline
Started this topic on the "Community Information" discussion, but no feedback - So, reposting here:
8 days ago my work/office's 3 Eero Pro 6s suddenly went offline. After trying to re-connect, restart, reboot everything (modem and router) I called my ISP. They were great, changed out all cabling "just in case" and they had no problem connecting to their server (before or after). Called Eero Customer Service. Spent a couple of hours over 2 days "confirming" that it was not ISP related, moving Eeros around, etc. Service Rep was able to change the names of the Eeros remotely then deleted my network. One day later, during the 2nd day of troubleshooting, my home network (4 Eero Pros, 1 Beacon) went offline. Exactly the same symptoms (same ISP), but Eero Rep was never able to connect. During all of this I discovered that after entering my Static IP address and subnets, and DNS, etc. into the "ISP" settings of the App, I could "Save" and/or "Apply" but then nothing ... Opening the setting dialog again, all info is blank. FYI, both networks updated software a couple of days prior (version 6.15.3-12), one day apart. My gut tells me that after the update was installed (and both networks reconnected normally to the existing ISP connection), a couple of days later maybe a "refresh" or "credential" check was called by the ISP system and my Static IP address settings weren't available ...? Is that possible? After I plugged the Office and Home Eeros into an old router, both networks function fine in bridge mode, and the connection with the ISP is great with the static IP settings in the old routers ... But, I have a lot of Port steering/reservations etc for "Smart Home" devices and they've been operating behind the old router and not reaching their destinations ... This is also not a permanent solution I like ...
