Poor performance when hard-wired Eero to Eero

My primary Eero is in the living room, next to the U-verse gateway.  I have a hard wired loop back into my office.  Connected the primary and secondary Eeros using that loop back and performance is awful!

I've seen a few posts on this, on other sites, and know this is an approved approach for installation... Please help.
