Stadia causing Eero AP to die/reboot

Hi, I’m getting regular (say once every 30m) death aka red light on my nearest Eero AP when using stadia.

The chromecast ultra is wired onto a switch connected to the Eero which itself connects to the router.

The Stadia controller WiFi connects to an Eero.
Mid game, the controller flashes orange indicating loss of WiFi (or at least connectivity to the chromecast). 10 seconds later the Eero AP typically goes red. In the meantime the controller and other devices go off connecting to other sub optimal APs leaving bandwidth issues to persist for a while... even after the AP reboots.

Anyone seen these effects?

  • Hello,

I have not heard of this happening before. Do the other APs that the Stadia connects to go down? If not, have you tried swapping the APs to see if maybe the AP that you are using for the Stadia is failing?

    Thank you,

  • I need to do some more testing, James, although I did manage to take down another AP after the first one recovered; by then the controller had switched over. I will physically switch round some APs and see if it is consistent.
