migrating settings from apple extreme router to eero gateway
Hi -
I am about to replace my AppleExtreme/Ruckus setup with an Eero Pro6E setup.
I had a few questions:
1. I have tons of port forward settings in my Apple Extreme. Is there any easy way to migrate them to the Eero gateway? (The Airport Utility does allow me to export a "baseconfig" file - any way to get the Eero to read it?)
2. Can I setup the Eero gateway "offline", i.e. without connecting it to the modem, until all the DHCP range and port forwarding settings are properly setup?
3. Since I will be backhauling all the clients via wired ethernet to the gateway, is there any way to disable the mesh network?
Many thanks!

1. No, there’s no way to import that kind of thing into eero. I doubt you’d be able to import that .baseconfig file into any other type of system anyways since that’s just a file type for Airport devices.
2. I don’t believe you can config anything offline, but just connect the eero to your network like any other device and then you can configure it prior to making it your gateway/router.
3. You can’t disable the mesh network. That will always be running, but the wired connection will take priority (unless the wired connection fails, in which case the wireless backhaul will kick in which is actually a good thing).
