eero Pro 6E on UPS/Battery still fails during power outage

Edit: Looks like comcast is down also (so both power and cable were down at the same time).  I love eero again. However, I will say the app does not do a good job communicating true status. For example: it shows both ports as "not connected" when that isn't the case.

I have a 3-node eero Pro 6E with wired backhaul—all nodes connected to a gigabit switch. The gateway eero, cable modem, and switch are all plugged into a UPS with plenty of battery.

During a power-outage, eero is showing everything as "offline". The gateway eero, the modem, and the switch all have had continuous power provided by the UPS backup battery (there was no "flicker" of power).

However, the eero light is red and the app shows both ethernet ports as "not connected" -- even though the switch shows a green LED indicating there *is* a connection.

Even after restarting the gateway/modem/switch, it doesn't come back online. When this happened earlier in the day, the only way it got back up and running was when power was restored (and I guess the other two nodes checked in?).

In the past with a Google Wi-Fi setup, if there was a power-outage, the network remained connected with both wired and wireless clients. Sure, the wireless integrity was reduced because everything ran off the single node connected to UPS battery backup... but it still worked. I didn't even have to intervene (e.g. restart the gateway), everything was automatic.

Does an eero network fail if the satellite nodes lose power?

There's no mechanism to cause the network to fall offline if just the leaf eeros are offline. The red LED specifically means that we cannot detect internet connectivity from the modem - do you have a laptop or another device that's capable of being wired to the modem to confirm that it's able to reach the internet?

    embarrassed face goes here.

Turns out Comcast is down with almost everything else due to the storms in the bay area.  I still have some gripes about the app misleading the user... but yes: red means no internet and that was, in fact, the issue.

feel free to delete this thread - i couldn't find a way to do it.

    Thanks Chris

Nah, if it can help, we can keep it up.

      Thanks!
