CCTV Cameras

Hi

I need a simple cctv camera that comes on day and night with a sensor and light and videos a short time.  Then the video can be downloaded onto your laptop or phone app. not a ring camera that needs to be hard wired. does anyone use a simple plug in camera compatible with eero

  • Any camera that connects to wifi will work fine with eero.

cMoo92 it was an iegeek 360 wired and wifi night vision camera.  Very similar to many single cctv cameras that respond to motion and record. View on laptop or app.  Talktalk tried for 7 hours but couldnt resolve it.  All these cameras are 2.4GHz. .  ive had different opinions from eero that it does support 2.4 and 5 GHz. .  but the on line view is a bit conflicting. Saying 2.4 devices are usable but if there are issues contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer wasnt really interested.

Had a ctronix before this. Worked fine on copper. Stopped working on fibre. So i bought the iegeek. This never worked on fibre. Talktalk recommended upgrading to fibre 150 with the eero and said it should resolve it. it didnt and talktalk could not resolve it. Ive returned the camera and want to buy another simple single camera you can plug into an electric socket and link to wifi.

Ring cameras were the only ones eero mentioned but they are expensive, require hard wiring in and you have to have a subscription to download the videos.

I want the camera for detecting and videoing wildlife in the garden. Thanks

      1. Turn off WPA3 in the eero app (Discover > eero Labs > WPA3)
      2. Temporarily disable the 5GHz network in the eero app (Settings > Troubleshooting > My device won't connect > My device is 2.5GHz only)

cMoo92 thanks. Yes we did try both of those .  In the end the technicians advised to be a camera that was compatable with eero . Apart from Ring cameras which need to be hard wired and not quite what i want im not sure. But thank you for your interest and your help.
