eero Plus Threat Blocks - up then down

A few weeks ago, threat blocks in eero Plus went way up, way up at least for my usage. Unexplained as my surfing had not changed from prior weeks. Been using it for months and never noticed this.

This week, we’re 5 days into the eero Plus week and I’ve got 0 threats. Wondering if Zscaler did some tweaking ... just an observatIon anyway.

Follow up ... went to known malware sites and got the oopsie message from eero Plus ... not showing up yet as threats in the Activity report after a couple hours. Hm.

cotedan87 Reply from senior eero developer .... zScaler had stopped (for some unknown reason) sending reasons for blocking, thus the zero threat readings. She said the problem is now known but no ETA for a fix since it's in zScaler hands.  At least we know what's going on. Many thanks to the eero peeps for looking it up.

I'm seeing this as well. For several weeks especially the counters for phishing seemed to really spike,, now it's just zero across the board. Odd.

unixdespair yes and it persists into this week. Glad to know I’m not the only one.  This isn’t an eero thing as such.  Just wondering what ZScaler did at their end to have the numbers spike then flatline.

unixdespair could also have been a campaign of mounted attacks that ZScaler caught, thus the spike in threats. Like you, I just find it a bit odd that there are no threat blocks in the eero report at all now. Zero.

cotedan87 right... I intentionally tried to download the eicar test string earlier today. It threw up the eero block page fine, but has not shown up in the block counters. The only thing incrementing is the inspection count. I’ve opened up a support ticket in case there is something they can recommend.

unixdespair ok. Keep us tuned please. Might be that some oopsie screens aren’t meant to show up as threats.

Problem solved. Senior developer informed that ZScaler wasn’t sending info to eero, thus the zero readings for threats. Lasted 3 weeks but now seems fixed as of yesterday. Thanks eero!
