Designate Which Hub a Device Attaches To

My DirecTV main tuner resides in my basement theater, just through a doorway and around the corner from my main "basement" hub. When attaching DirecTV to my network, it continually attaches to my "office" hub at 5MHz which resides upstairs at the end of the hallway in my office (after several attempts.) My "office" hub is the greatest distance away of any of my three eero hubs resulting in a very poor signal. A) Why is it attaching to that hub? B) How can I force it to connect to the closest "basement" hub? (The obvious answer is power off my "office" hub before attaching the DirecTV, but that's not exactly a legitimate cause/effect response.)

    I agree. I have a thermostat that when connected to the bedroom eero it stays connected. For some reason it roams to other eeros that aren't close and then loses it's connection. Also other devices will connect to distant eeros when there is one a few feet away. The signal and bandwidth are much better when a device is connected to the closest eero. I would like to be able to force a device to stay connected to the closest eero.

    Thanks for reaching out. 

    At this time, you can't force which eero a device connects to. However, we should definitely take a look to ensure that your devices are connecting to the preferred eero. There is a chance that your device is connecting to another eero that is within range following a reboot. Since a cable box doesn't roam, it won't switch eeros.

    Jeff C.  Hi Jeff, thanks for your quick response in the spirit of excellence you guys exhibit!  For some inexplicable reason, a day later the DirecTV tuner reattached to the "Family Room" hub which, oddly, is still not the closest hub, but definitely provided a stronger signal. Thanks again!
