Need solution for blacklisting sites

Apparently Eero Plus does not have this capability. (For real?  How can this be?)

In the past I have used OpenDNS but it up and stopped working even though I have entered all of the DNS settings in the advanced settings of the eero router AND on my modem (Spectrum Cable).

Any suggestions would be greatly (and I mean greatly) appreciated. 

I'm a recovering game-a-holic and none of the global filtration on Eero Plus is filtering or blocking any of the sites that suck my time into Oblivion.

    Is your eero in bridge mode? It sounds like it might be since it’s actually behind another router. What you call a modem can’t be just a modem if you’re configuring settings on it such as DNS addresses.

      Good catch.  It is true that the device I'm using (Netgear C6300) as a modem does have wifi capability.  But I disabled the wifi (turned it off).  So it is only functioning as a modem.  But I don't think that is the problem because I actually had a pure modem (no wifi) hooked up as recently as two days ago . . . and OpenDNS was still not working even though the DNS settings on the eero were/are correct.

      I'm not sure what you mean about bridge mode.  I have three total eeros on my network.  Two of them are in "repeater" mode (is that bridge mode?).  Thanks in advance for your help!

      MikeNAustin even though the wifi is off, your Netgear router is still functioning as a router. That might be what’s causing this issue, but you mention you had a different modem hooked up previously and it didn’t work then.

      My next suspicion is that you’re making the DNS address change, but not forcing your device to update it’s IP address and get the new IP address for the DNS servers. You can force this by restarting your device after implementing the change on the eero. Or, an easier way to test is just to manually set the DNS address directly on your device. This allows you to bypass whatever your router(s) are set to do.
