Are these results normal?

I bought an eero 2 pack with the goal of replacing a single Time Capsule. The main eero is in the living room (first floor). The second eero is on the second floor in the master bedroom (directly above of the first eero). The eero app reports that the upstairs eero has "Excellent" connection quality.

As you can see from the spreadsheet there is a significant bandwidth drop-off when using the eeros.

    Each Eero has a maximum range of about 1,000 square feet, with walls, pipes in walls/ceilings, building materials, etc, all reducing that range. That's why Eero recommends 3-4 Eeros in a 2,000-4,000 square foot house, not 2 Eeros as in your set-up.  Luma, Ubiquiti, Netgear, and Google all make same recommendations with their mesh networking systems.  

    I have a roughly 2100 square foot house, with 3 Eeros.  I average 742 Mbps with my Western Digital MyCloudMirror Network Access Storage up to 130 feet from my house.  My NAS is connected via Ethernet to a Eero.  

    How is your Time Capsule connected to your network - wifi or Ethernet?

    I used the same test method as you in your post, and I did this old school method too; I timed how long it took to copy a 4.29 GB file between my MacBook Air and my NAS, between MacBook and iPhone 7 (max iPhone 7 wifi speed 1200 Mbps via 802.11ac), and did it also with my iPad and my iPhone. Speeds were pretty much the same as I posted above. 

    However, when I unplugged an Eero, taking me down to 2 Eeros, my data speeds on my network dropped by almost ⅓, meaning having 3 Eeros did make a noticeable difference. 

    My Eeros are using the new 2.0 firmware. Which firmware version are yours using (open the Eero app, tap on an Eero, which Eero OS version is listed)?

    The ethernet ports on the Eero systems are not the highest performance and with the TImecapsule running at almost 1 gig, they are the problem.   They are really designed for printers, TV's et al... What I have done is get a small 1 gig switch and hook it to the Eero and then hook Timecapsule to switch... Performance is better since you are not burdening the Eero.  It is my one complaint with the Eero.   If those ports were true 1 gig switch ports, this would be a mute point.  But also understand that these are not 1 Gig access points either.   They can only go so fast regardless..

    The Ethernet ports on each and every eero are both the highest performing gigE ports available and are also switch ports.
