No internet no routing?

Hello. I have really been enjoying my dual eeros the past couple months. Last night my internet went out for the first time. But then my WiFi dropped. I thought this to be weird so I ran up to my desktop that is wired, can't access anything.

Do the eero's require an internet connection to route local data?

    Hi  Drackene

Thanks for reaching out. eeros don't require an active internet connection to route local data. However, if you were to reboot your eeros during an outage, it would cause the LAN to become unreachable.

Jeff C.  has this been fixed in later revisions? I just ordered a set of erro devices and consider this a major limitation and may send them back. I have internet and power outages frequently and can't put a ups on everything.

Jeff C. I would second/third this. I'm getting your devices for coverage within our warehouse, as mesh networking is ideal in this kind of environment where direct line of sight for signals can be obscured by shelving and boxes containing metal...etc. While we have a backup generator for power outages and a battery backup for the router, firewall, and base networking equipment, I don't want to risk losing ALL LAN communication simply because the backup generator started up a few seconds too early.
Given that your mesh network hardware is supposed to be for stability, I would highly, highly recommend getting a work around for this kind of issue soon.

This is crushing. Please, please address this ASAP. I live in a hurricane-prone area, where recovery is often piecemeal, and power always returns before internet access, sometimes by days. I’ve been pleased with my eero, but with hurricane season starting early this year, I’m now viewing eero as inadequate for my needs.

Eero needs an emergency/offline boot mode. Limited functionality would be acceptable, but at this pricepoint, a dead network is not.

    Hi everyone —

With the release of eeroOS 3.9, we have made significant improvements to LAN persistence. This means your internal network will continue to function during an outage and after rebooting your eeros.
