This eero Beacon needs and update.

I am attempting to add a new Eero Beacon to my network of three gen 2 eeros. While I'm able to connect via Bluetooth, I am getting a message that "This Eero Beacon needs an update.... this Eero beacon needs a software update before it can be added to your network. Please contact support."

 

I have no option to update this device, has anyone else encountered this problem? Support is currently closed.

  • Hmm, that’s odd. And you can’t just wire it to another eero since it’s a beacon. I’m not sure how it will get the update. I’m afraid your only option is to wait for support tomorrow.

  • Just an update, I was able to speak to support and via the serial number I assume they made the beacon a client on my wifi and were able to push the update and get the device online. Took about 15 minutes on the phone.
