eero internet speeds are very different than ookla speeds. Why?
EVERY time I run internet speed test on eero, I get 484 Mbps. Wow! Seconds later, I run ookla speedtest.net and the speeds are in the 100-200 Mbps range (or much lower). I don't get it.
It is due to when you do a Speedtest on your eero app it is the speeds coming directly from the modem. If you were doing a Speedtest from Ookla and you were doing it over wireless that’s your problem. You would get the speeds showing from the eero app if you were hardwired
Thanks for the response. My issue, I think, is the placement of the eero pods and doing an ookla speedtest showing low speeds (less than 100 mbps), even though the eero speedtest is showing very high speeds (400+ mbps) from the same location (like my bedroom). I've moved the pods around, but can't get many "sweet spots". Trial and error, I suppose. Also, eero seems to not show nearby devices consistently. Sometimes, a device is very near an eero pod, but the device shows up connected to a pod on the other side of the house (ranch-style).
My problem with this is that when I do a speed test from the app Im getting 980 ish... Mbps download and 200 ish... Mbps upload. Im not sure why its not showing the 500 Mbps upload speeds I should be getting. Alternatively Im showing the actual speeds are correct when doing a speedtest on ookla.
I have the same problem. I've run the Ookla and Google speed tests on my desktop (connected with ethernet) and my mobile phone (connected to the same home network but by wifi) with the Eero app over several days and at different times. This Eero speed is consistently a multiple of the speeds tested by Ookla, with the upload speeds extremely different. I don't know what to trust.
