eero blocking FireTV and Recast DVR Apps

I set up my eero 6+ about a month ago and I can't figure out how to fix this security issue.  My FireTV works fine on the primary network if I want to watch live TV or recordings through my Fire Recast DVR.  But if I want to use any of the apps for other streaming services (HBO max, Motortrend, Apple TV+, Netflix, etc.) the app will load but then hang when I try to watch a program.  The only way I can use any of the apps is to switch to the guest network.  I tried setting the Recast to the guest network, but then none of it works.  It is incredibly annoying to have to constantly switch between networks.  Why won't these Amazon devices work together?  How do I fix it?  All software is up to date - eero is running v. 6.11.1-46 and the TV is on Fire OS 6.2.9.1.

Bump...  Why is Amazon blocking Amazon devices in eero security?  Why don't owners have access to override that block?

sdheath We want to take a look at what is going on and see what we can do to help.

Please send us an email to support@eero.com and use the subject line "Community Followup - Streaming services blocked". Please send this from the email address on the eero account and/or include the serial number of one of the eero on the network so we can bring it up.

Michael_eero_support Thank you, I just sent it.

    Was this solved?

I am having the same issue. Fire sticks aren’t working unless they are connected to the guest network.

Wes Skorski No it was not solved.  They had me switching DNS servers as though that would make a difference.  Their total inability to make Amazon devices work is infuriating.

sdheath I can get my Firesticks to work using the Guest Network but for some reason each eero uses a different IP range for guest network.  Fire TV Recast must be on the same subnet as the Fire Sticks.   Frustrating.  Either have the sticks work or have recast work.

I think I figured it out.  I turned off IPv6 and they are working normally.

I found other threads for Orbi mesh wifi and Firesticks not working.  It seems there may be some IPV6 issues on Firesticks.

Wes Skorski Thanks!  I turned off IPV6 and so far it looks like everything is working.  What's the downside to not using IPV6?
