Devices not connecting to eeros

Hi, I have 2 2nd gen Eeros (J010011) and find I still have coverage deadspots. I purchased another 2nd gen however, when I added it into the network some of my devices wouldn't connect so I turned off and all worked normally. 

I thought maybe this is a positioning issue so moved it to another location (originally I was going for a triangle topology but now decided to go more Linea - gateway-eero1-eero2) But now some devices that were quite happily connected to eero1 won't connect at all.

Is this a placement issue or could it be a device issue? I'm running the latest 6.4 software.


Any help is appreciated as its driving me nuts!
