Can't connect to Eero connected devices over specified ports...

Hello,

I have multiple subnets setup on a Fortigate FW. The networks in question are my home wifi subnet connected with my Eero Gateway (10.0.4.0/24) and the subnet with my ESXi VM's (192.168.1.0/24). I need to allow ports 17472 and 17486 to be opened on any device in the 10.0.4.0 subnet.  I've created reservations and port mapping but have been unsuccessful. Please help me confirm that this is an Eero issue. It would be REALLY NICE if I had access to firewall logs and even BETTER if you had a Web UI. Thanks!

  • Hello (V)aniac ,

Just want to make sure, did you setup the port forwarding on the Fortigate FW as well to the Gateway eero? Another problem you might run into here is that you are unable to open the same external port for every device on your eero network as eero does not have broadcast ip address that you can open the port to. When you have time email support@eero.com so we can take a closer look and see if there might be any other options for what you are trying to setup.

James thanks for responding. My Fortigate is set to all/ALL/always for these subsets. Is there a way that I can see the packet arrive on the Eeero? Is there FW logs or a way I can run TCPDump or Wireshark on my Eero interface? If I don’t see the packet then I know it’s not the Eero. In general, is there a way you can give me FULL access to MY device so I can manage it?
