Download speed still seems capped after soft reset
My current set up is 3 eero pro 6 and 1 eero. I recently had Frontier Fios 500/500 and decided to upgrade to 1000/1000. The technician came out and they provisioned the new speed. However, after running a speedtest in the Eero app on the main gateway, I am see speed of roughly 450 download and 950 upload (close to 1000 I expected). The technician tested on his own router and can see the fiber line providing close to the 1000/1000 speed.
After doing a soft reset on the main gateway only, I am seeing the download speed increase but still capped off around 750 while upload still close to the 1000. Do I need to do a hard reset to see the changes? I prefer to avoid setting up the network all over again.
Hello aphan89 ,
Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to The Community! Before we get started can you answer a few questions regarding your network?
1) How many sqft is your home?
2) Are your eeros at least 35-45ft away from any other eeros?
3) If you unplug all extra eeros on the network and run a speed test on the Gateway is the download speed still reduced?
4) Can you try downloading a large file and monitor how fast the download is?
Keep in mind that WiFi congestion and interference can have a large impact on download and upload speeds. Take a look at the article below to make sure that your eeros are placed in the most optimal locations.
