Request: Dynamic DNS Support

Support for a few basic DynDNS services (DynDNS, NoIp, etc) would be greatly appreciated for remote access.

Currently I'm having to run a control applet/service on my local PC to keep everything up-to-date (and it generally works); however being able to do it on the router would be ideal.

Much thanks.

Using No-IP on my Linksys router now and don't plan on eliminating it for the Eero.

Are you kidding? All these requests for DDNS and then you put it behind a paywall? A user shouldn't have to pay monthly in order to get access to DDNS - it's such a standard feature on every single other router and can be had for totally free. Ugh I should have known that Amazon would make users pay monthly for something that should just work. These kinds of practices are deceptive and make us users feel like we don't truly own the hardware we spent so much money on. I totally regret going with eero now.

For those unaware, eero announced DDNS today as part of the Secure+ suite of features, which is a subscription-based service. Agree that this is disappointing that it’s a paid service rather than fundamental part of the base router services as with their competitors. This may be where community voice needs to be heard.

Skyedog I agree. So let it be heard - this is a feature request from FOUR years ago, and it was standard on less expensive consumer routers then. Putting this behind the paywall is an insult to eero's long time users.

johnnymacnchee I was super disappointed with eero's decision as well!! Come on. We asked for so many years and DDNS is more like a standard feature for all routers, even those low-end ones. I paid close to $900 CAD for three eero pro 6 and we needed to pay for a feature that's like a standard feature for all other brands?

I promise you eero, I will never use your product again in future and I will also telling all of my friends "DO NOT" use eero. PERIOD!

Wow, what a joke. I was expecting the ability to use one of the free dynamic DNS services. I'm not going to pay for the eero secure subscription to gain access to this feature, and I won't be buying or recommending eero products if this fundamental feature is not provided.

This is very disconcerting. I wish I had gone with Google Wifi now.

eero dev team: tell your leadership that they are burning bridges with the type of customers that may otherwise have become loyalists. I guess there’s still time to fix the mistake of paywalling this standard feature.

johnnymacnchee This move by the eero team is so frustrating. We have waited so long only to hear that we have to pay another 10€/month for this? That's even Spotify or Netflix cheaper and you really get something out of it. Especially for a feature that every 20€ router can handle? I really regret my decision for the eero system and i will try to sell it or send it back to Amazon.

Maasstteerr I was only with eero for a short time, in that time I had super stable wifi but the lack of features, putting ddns behind the paywall and finally the eeros blocking access to login to my mobile phone account management page even after being put in the allowed list was the final straw. I returned mine after speaking to amazon customer services. I replaced my system with the Asus RT-AX58U wifi 6 router. Full parental controls, trend micro security software all included for free - plus I have ddns, openvpn and more for £158. It covers my small uk sized 3 bedroom house with ease and in the same room as the router on my 1gig broadband connection I get near line speed at 860mbps to my m1 macbook air. Yes its not as simple as the eero however it's only complicated to a non tech person if they want to dig into the more advanced features.

Even if they put this behind a paywall (which I think is a terrible decision), why the hell did they put it behind Secure+ and not regular Secure???? Even if I wanted to pay to use this feature, I already have Malwarebytes and 1Password subscriptions outside of Eero. I don't want to pay twice to use this feature.

Pretty sad move IMHO. Nobody asked for yet another service but to integrate with existing ones. Then on the other side, eero has the Amazon cloud lying at their feet. Other manufacturers of networking devices however provide such services for free. And eero isn't exactly a cheap one...

Hope eero won't do the same with VPN.

Very disappointed… should NOT have to pay for a basic feature all other routers from various manufactures I have owned had from day one and as someone stated it’s been 4 years and they have the nerve to hold it hostage and make us pay $10 a month or $100 a year!  Sorry but the $9.99 or $99 pricing is a joke.  I just activated OpenVPN on my Synology NAS and this seems to work for my needs.  Just updated to eero 6 Pros and this will be the last eero I’ll ever use and add me to the list of people NOT recommending eero to anyone.  Very sad…

Should someone create a new Feature Request for FREE DDNS since this one is marked implemented I’m betting they don’t care or read these post any longer.  If someone does this or knows a link to an existing one  please posit it here.

This is marked as implement but it has no actually been implemented. The request was for support of dynamic dns services. What was implemented was a new dynamic dns service which is behind a paywall. Not what was requested.
