Request: Dynamic DNS Support

Support for a few basic DynDNS services (DynDNS, NoIp, etc) would be greatly appreciated for remote access.

Currently I'm having to run a control applet/service on my local PC to keep everything up-to-date (and it generally works); however being able to do it on the router would be ideal.

Much thanks.

I wasn't looking for technical advice. I know what I'm doing and what I need. I don't have a static I from my provider. I need dyndns to work. Thank you.

Nnyan Thank you for the condescending response. As I said, I was just hoping this feature will be available since, as others pointed out, it's available in other wifi routers at lower price points.

Why do men always think women need technical advice as opposed to information? And when I reiterate that I actually just needed information you feel the need to tell me to take a chill pill.

I've been using a ddns script on my Ubuntu home server to keep this function updated for what about two years now?  Whenever I got these damned eeros.

    https://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/installing-the-linux-dynamic-update-client-on-ubuntu/

Would much prefer to have it on the router side of the house.

I’m hoping with the recent changes at Eero, they’ll reconsider features that are standard at much lower price points, especially now that everyone has very solid mesh offerings.

The idea of a a subscription service to pay my router manufacturer is pretty off-putting. I would consider it, if it offered best-in-class features. But we don’t even have the bare essentials.

I too use DynDns to access my home automation system and security cameras. I was very surprised to find that Eero doesn't have it built in. Every other router system I have used does have it built in. I wish Eero would add that soon!

Dynamic DNS is a feature that a lot of people (me included) depend on not only for remote access, but also for home security systems, home automation, etc. It should be moved up the priority list for future software updates.

I am quite disappointed that this feature is not available. To the point that I am regretting purchasing eero. I can not recommend eero to anyone.

I apologise if my post violated posting guidelines and if I offended anyone.  I understand how frustrating it is to not have a feature you require.  But I have had used 34 routers (just broke out my storage box and counted) and 1.  Not all DDNS features worked well or consistently 2.  Many had limits on which providers the feature would work with.  It is your choice to do whatever you want as a consumer.  I myself reluctantly moved away from Eero and I'm quite happy with Ubiquity Unifi, but it wasn't an easy choice as Eero is a great product and you have choices with DDNS.

I too am needing the DDNS service function to be added to the eero product line.

Most if not all new router systems come with the DDNS function.

eero wifi systems    = VERY FAST

    eero DDNS support = FAIL

Agree this should be added.  I was shocked when I learned it wasn't available.  Fortunately I have a tower that is always on so am using that.

Need this feature (ddns) to access my cameras as I don't have a static IP from my internet provider. I personally use a custom ddns freemyip.com

+1 this is feature that is definitely needed on Eero. A $500 product should support this out of the box. Make this happen!

I agree 100%. To access my security system when I'm away from homeI run an app on my laptop to keep my address current. But this is not a good solution. Please consider adding DDNS support.

I would add my vote to implement this feature. DDNS does more than just allow remote access. It can be used to facilitate smart home features and monitor security systems. Some vendors require a static IP or DNS name to work.

Working in IT, and with the amount of much lower end routers, I find it disheartening that Eero still has not implemented this into their product!  Come on Eero!

sell it and move on obviously eero does not care.

I had to have DDNS for my doorbell and security system. I find it hard to believe that eero hasn't implemented it. I haven't sold my Eero system (yet) but I did replace them with Netgear Orbi. The Orbi are big and clunky but they support DDNS and know about No-IP and other DDNS venders. It's sad. I hope I can resurrect my eero system in the future... but it looks doubtful.

As a systems integrator this is a much needed feature. I like the ease of use, reliability and security of the eeros product and wish I could use it in all my projects. However, for home automation installs that require the end user to control remotely I use a router that can support DDNS.

Unfortunately this isn't even on the "under consideration list". Neither is VPN. Guys I recommend getting a good router and putting the Eero in bridged mode. The features of this product are too limited and these are essentially extremely expensive access points. Although I will admit, they do the wireless piece pretty damn good! I have full coverage in my 3-4 story house with only three Eeros.

Moving from Linksys Velop mesh to Eero, I copied down all of my old settings, and this was the only thing missing from my list.  Like many others, I've installed a dynamic DNS client on a computer for now.

I match several of the use-cases below.  I have the DynDNS updater utility running on one of the computers in my network, but it really is not efficient or effective.  How hard can this be to add?  Especially for two years?

Pretty crazy that 2 years on this is still "Under Consideration". Basic feature. C'mon eero.

May 2019 - this is an issue. Linksys in early 2000s had DDNS support. From my discussion with TS it sounds like they dont understand what is is. I refuse having to have a third party client running the update

I am running dyn’s Update client on a machine that I can keep always on but this is not ideal.  Add another piece of troubleshooting into the mix.
