Using eero with a Wireless Access Point

I recently moved house, and the new place was set up with a relatively new wireless access point which covered much of the living space. That said, there are sections of the house where wifi strength is very poor. At my old place I had an eero mesh set up. I was wondering if I could use my eeros as a repeater/extender of the WAP so that I could shore up signal strength in those areas ? I'd need it to amplify the signal from the WAP.

Any advice would be truly appreciated

  • You can't setup the eeros as a repeater. One of them needs to be hardwired into the network (preferably the modem). Then you can proceed to setup the other eeros around your house appropriately.

  • Thanks  cMoo92 My issue is that there are some areas of the house that have poor receptivity. Is there a way to perhaps create a separate mesh with the eero in parallel to my WAP, and have that serve a different IP subnet than my current WAP/Router set up ? That way I can connect those devices in the hard to receive spots ?
