Two Eero Pro 6 wired question on AP please, more info inside

Hi All, I got one Eero Pro 6 few years ago and I am perfectly happy with it, it works great. Previously I had a 3 pack Eero 5 and they were connecting wirelessly to each other and it did have the issue where the 2 satellites would not let go even if it was like 3 feet from it, it would connect to the other further satellite that it was 15 feet away. So I returned the 3 pack and got the one Eero Pro 6 which has been great. I had the 3 pack about 4 years ago or so, hope things have changed.

I want to get two Eero Pro 6 for my parents that are five states away. I have their house wired so there will be the main Eero and I the second will be wired I guess it will detect and it will go automatically to AP mode or I will do it manually. 

My question is as follows: In wired mode is Eero still have the issue were it wont let go a device that is far away instead of connecting to the closer device ?
