Static Routes

Ability to configure static routes on the eero defined network. Useful for directing traffic to other devices beyond the default gateway for communication, such as a vpn device.

    Yes this would be very helpfull, and its a basic feature in even the cheapest of other devices.

      portseven I've never seen such feature in the routers I tried. Maybe I didn't go for the cheapest ;). Or maybe I misunderstood what you meant.

      They typically allow a static IP with a default gateway but not setting up separate routes for multiple IP ranges.

      An alternative to multiple routes on the router itself would be DHCP option 121 (I think) which tells the clients which routes to use (and hope that the client honours it). That would allow one to run a VPN gateway on the same LAN managed by eero.

    I work around this differently. The eero gateway is connected to the ISP router (needs PPPoE anyway). It's a double-NAT but I configured the ISP router to place the eero in the DMZ, so no issues (also eero does a pretty good job at forwarding UPnP requests to the ISP router). I have a Raspberry Pi connected to the same ISP router, IP-forwarding enabled and a VPN with some specific routes to bypass geoblocking. On the eero, rather than using DHCP for WAN, I configured a static IP with the "Router IP" of the Raspberry Pi. Note that the Raspberry Pi doesn't do NAT for the default routes (only forwarding). For VPN, of course it will do a NAT as it needs to present a different IP on the other side of the tunnel.
