Laptop (2.4GHz) disconnects when changing between eero nodes

Hi,  I have a laptop (2.4GHz) that is sat on the kitchen table and connects to an eero in the kitchen.  However it keeps switching to the eero in the living room.  When it switches, about every 10-60 seconds, the internet stops working.  A browser sessions will say "A network change was detected".  Other devices seems to work fine while 'roaming'.

It doesn't get a new IP or any other changes that I can see, but the browsing session fails.  Is there anything i can do or setting i can change to stop this happening?

Thanks

Neil

  • I’m having the same issue with my HP laptop. Seems to have started after I upgraded to Windows 11. Network adapter is Realtek RTL8723DE. No other devises on my network seem to have this issue. Every 10 seconds or so it jumps from 1 eero beacon to another, and when it does this, internet connection is dropped on my laptop.

  • A bad solution is to buy another eero device and plug it in next to your computer and then run a hardwire ethernet connection from laptop to eero to force it to use the device that is 10" away.

Keith_A That's exactly the workaround I'm using... I have my laptop plugged into the eero in my office. Hopefully there will eventually be an eero/windows/hp/realtek update that will fix this incompatibility.
