Aladdin Connect and Eero 6 Pro with Eero Secure not working

Hello all,

I recently upgraded from an Eero 5 Pro to an Eero 6 Pro.  My Aladdin Connect wireless kit has stopped working with the Eero 6 Pro after working for 2+ years with the Eero 5 Pro (Aladdin Connect | Smart Garage Door Control (geniecompany.com)).  I have tried everything from opening certain ports that Aladdin uses to turning off 5Ghz to configuring it via my phone and the internal webpage and whitelisting the Genie website.  It will connect to my network but cannot reach the Aladdin\Genie cloud.

Anyone else seen this?  I think Eero Secure is blocking it but I can't figure out what to change.

Any ideas?  Tech Support for Genie was less that helpful.

TIA,

GSchmelt

Hi gschmelt Lets make sure eero Plus is the cause of our difficulty for this device.  Go to eero app->Discover->eero Plus and disable all options.  Also make sure to go to the Block and Allow list and remove anything from those (Write them down first).

When that is done go to eero app->Settings->Network Settings->DNS.  Move the dot to custom (if you can't there is still something enabled in eero Plus) and put in the following data:

    IPv4 Primary: 8.8.8.8

    IPv4 Secondary: 8.8.4.4

IPv6 Leave blank and click Save, the network will reboot.

Then we will want to see if your device works and can get to the cloud.

If it cannot call the manufacturer, all the parts of eero that can block a server is turned off.

If it can, start turning on the eero Plus options back on one by one and testing between.

Same issue. I tried all your steps. I never had anything blocked or whitelisted. First off, the app does not have a >eero Plus section. All I see when I'm in the >Discover> section is eero secure, Amazon connected and labs. I went into eero Secure (which is active with no way to toggle off) and nothing in that section is toggled on (not advanced secutiry, not ad blocking, no backup, no content filters, no blocked apps, no sites). I toggled off the advanced security and tried to hook up my genie with 5g on and with 5g turned off temp. The unit connects for a second and then disconnects as before. The eero app does acknowledge the genie was on the network and shows its credentials, but no connection stays.

Update - FIXED: Called eero and Genie. Genie had me factory reset the power head. Press and hold blue button til beep, repeat for 2nd beep. Same procedure for gray button. Delete the door in the Aladdin app. Add a new door. When I did this, I made sure the eero app was on 2.4 for this, though I'm not sure it made a difference. I ran through setting up the wifi (hold blue for a beep then continue on the aladdin app. When the connection was made to the network it did the typical cycle of red green, blue, red and instead of remaining on red, it flashed green. Be patient on the red and the flashing green it takes several minutes. Once that was done the light stayed green and the door was set up but had not status on the app. Hit your door button on the wall and cycle the door until it registers a status on the aladdin app. Took me about 6 cycles until it showed up. Good luck all!

Verify that the most recent firmware and software updates are updated on your Aladdin Connect wireless kit as well as your Eero 6 Pro router. For any updates that might be available, check the manufacturer's website or the Eero app.Make sure your Eero 6 Pro router's network settings are configured correctly by checking them twice. Ensure that the router and your Aladdin Connect device have the same Wi-Fi network names (SSID) and passwords. myfedloan
