Robust native VPN server support

I would be willing to pay for eero Secure if eero offered a native VPN server.

And what I mean by that, is a VPN server that I can connect to as a client while away from home.  Where the VPN server would allocate a LAN IP address from the local (home) pool, and allow my remote laptop to use my home printer, for example.  Or access my local file server.

  • Would be awesome to have VPN support if so many things weren't geo-blocking. Id love to use WireGuard over my connection all the time.

Sovniexlii I have my own WireGuard setup but it would be nice indeed if eero had it built in. Maybe partner with someone like Tailscale to easily set it up, manage remote clients.

If they ever do it, this would likely be a Secure+ feature (given that DDNS is, which really isn't advanced at all, the basic ISP routers can do it).

  • Express VPN supports this on a lot of platforms other than typical OSs and devices, they currently have an implementation of VPN at the router level, and every device on that network is under the VPN without having to individually connect them all. https://www.expressvpn.com/vpn-software/vpn-router

MisterDynamic I think this is the *other* side of the VPN...   I want my local LAN to be the Private Network (Server) that I can reach and be part of when I am away from home. Express VPN appears to be the client side.

    • bgix I think I'm following.

Sounds like you want something more than the DDSN feature included with eero secure +?
