Computers on network no longer visible since moving from wired to Eero

I can only see certain computers on my network now, whereas I used to be able to see them all, and it doesn't seem to follow a rule that I can see the ones connected to the same eero. Right now, for example, I can only see one of 4 that are online, and that one is connected to a different eero. Is there a setting that I'm not understanding? Grateful for any help, thanks.

  • Hi ianbroz

I would check the IP addresses the computers that are not visible currently have, see if they match what IP addresses the eero is giving out.  If they do not it might be another router involved and/or a topology error.  I would certainly give eero support a call to check into it.

  • Michael_eero_support - thanks, I will check (although I'm not sure how to check the IP addresses that the eero is giving out)

    • ianbroz You can see what IP addresses are provided to a device by the eero via the eero app.  Select the device in the connected device list and scroll down.

By default the eero usually provides IP addresses in the 192.168.4.x - 192.168.7.x range

Guest networks go from 192.168.10.x through 192.168.12.x

If the eero is providing default ranges and your device that cannot communicate is outside of that range, that is why you cannot connect to it, it also means that there is likely another DHCP router involved.
