Eero poor connection on office network
I have two eero connect via ethernet cables in a shared workspace office environment. The eero worked perfectly for months and now it seems to be very slow and is timing out. It shows the speed is fine it just times out. The manager of our workspace says I need to log the MAC ids for each eero and each device on the network so the firewall does not cause issues, we have attempted to do this. We are now using and unsecure network and having to toggle between the Eero network to print and back to the Unsecure Spaces garbage network if we wish to actually get work done. I am not sure if I have registered the correct Mac address, I did the left only so far for each, any advice would be great. I love eero at my house but on the office network it has been a problem as of late.
I’m willing to bet the issue is being caused by interference due to having eero in the same physical area as the shared workspace’s managed wifi. Not to mention if other users in the workspace are running their own WiFi like you are, the available “airspace” is chaos.
I’d recommend contacting eero support so they can dig into this and identify what is causing your issues. Ultimately though, if my assumption about too many wireless networks is correct, there isn’t going to be much you can do about it. Hopefully support can help you though—might just be as simple as removing the eeros a little bit.
