Feature Request: Bandwidth Monitor

With Comcast and others adding bandwidth caps id love to get internal alerts since Comcast numbers are so out of whack.

    Questions:

    1) Is this only for the new eeros? and if so can I just add one of those to my network and get this or do I have to replace all my eeros (I have a large network with 7 eeros).

    2) is this part of eero Secure+ or an additional subscription?

ANeeroFull I see that now: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049161231-Understanding-Your-Network-Data-Usage

No mention if it comes to all eero devices or just the new ones. The link above doesn't indicate hardware requirements so I am hopeful.

Moses Im on the Pro 2 system, not the new Pro 6. I get all the stats I was looking for. It's $3/minth but I'm a happy camper. It seems to be very well executed.

Mgreer316 Sounds great. Looks exactly what I need. I have 7 eero Pro's already. I am not home but have initiated the update remotely to see if they get it. Do you have the Android or iPhone app? Users above that are seeing it have Android, I am on iPhone.

WHAT? You made this a subscription based feature? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Eero, that's it. I'm dump all of my devices. This pissed me off so much. I'm out.

Very odd that Eero is moderating comments now...if you type something bad, it immediately gets flagged.

I'm not happy a desperately needed feature is now a subscription based feature. Guess I'm going back to Google Wifi.

      Moses YAY!

I have a ton of network tools in my home office for the job, so I've always known what my Eeros are doing from a traffic standpoint.

What I didn't have was SNMP support for the Eeros themselves. Again, not a deal breaker since I can see more than the average bear.

Overall...this is the best consumer grade router hardware I've owned...and I've owned a LOT.

Will this be available for the iPhone app?  ETA?

Regarding iOS, I'm thinking their user base of iOS devices is probably their biggest base. Therefore, rolling out to a smaller Android base gives them the opportunity to troubleshoot any issues before the bigger base gets it. That's just me guessing.

I know it's irritating to have to pay for this capability, but on the plus side it's only $30/year ($2.50/month) if purchased annually. Additionally, the execution is thorough. It took them long enough but I must say they did their homework. It's not a half baked retrofitted implementation. Now if we could only get a web interface.

I find it very irritating that reddit has more details and specifics than here in eero's own community. Anyway, here's the deal on how they've implemented access to this feature.

"To clarify for those that don't have it yet - this is a freemium feature.

You can view live data and weekly metrics free.

If you want daily or monthly reports, you have to pay for Eero Secure."

Eero Secure is $30/year ($2.50/month) if paid in full or $3/month ($36/year) if paid monthly.

I could be wrong, but if you want to inspect usage on the device level to find out which devices are hogging data, then I believe you must subscribe.

Mgreer316 Thanks, sorry I missed that. I find this forum's scrolling/refresh a bit odd. The images are just what I'm looking for. Unfortunately I'm on iOS but it sounds like it's coming soon so that's great news!

wow, Eero is selling me my own data. Is it even legal? Imagine you have to pay for Google and youtube for your search and watch history. Very creative way of making money.

eero_user I find it a bit disturbing as well, along with the whole concept of having to create an online account for something that should be local to my network.

In practice, for this whole bandwidth monitor thread, I just wish they supported SNMP and people could choose what solution they want to use for metrics and monitoring.

    OMG!!

This is now working!!!!  I can tell who is using the most data with which device!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!!!!  For this alone, eero 6 was worth the upgrade.  This is the biggest giant step in my smart home world since Nest thermostat.  Thank you!

Even if I don't get the monthly data for free, it is very useful.

edhchoe You don't the eero 6! The version 6 level firmware added this to my 2nd gen Eero Pro, so I'm assuming all eeros have it.
