Feature Request: Bandwidth Monitor
With Comcast and others adding bandwidth caps id love to get internal alerts since Comcast numbers are so out of whack.

Is this feature going to happen or what? I have a 1 TB monthly limit with Cox and I really need to track bandwidth, both real-time and historical. When I first got my Eero a year or so ago it at least had real-time bandwidth utilization per device listed in the app when you looked at the connected clients list. Now, with the new app update (a month or two ago I think) you no longer can get the real-time bandwidth usage at a glance, but instead you have to dig down and click on each connected device to view it's real-time bandwidth utilization. Having to click on each device in the connected clients list to view the real-time bandwidth utilization is a step backwards in my opinion. It was much more intuitive to have the real-time bandwidth utilization listed in the connected clients section so you could easily view real-time consumption across all devices in one glance. While I understand it was probably an attempt to make a clean interface for non-technical users so they could just look at their connected clients, why not move this data to a separate section in the app for those who want to see it? Having to click on each connected device (50+ in my case) to view the real-time usage for each is not very helpful. Even more important than this though, is the ability to log historical bandwidth usage on a day/week/month basis.
EDIT: Here is an example of the change in the app I am referring to: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000696666-How-do-I-see-how-much-bandwidth-my-devices-are-using-
iOS Users:
- Open the eero app
- Tap the Device Category, the Device is located under (Computer, Personal, Entertainment, Home and Other)
- Tap the Device
- The Device Bandwidth usage is listed under Activity
- If the Device is Idle it will show the Last Active time
Android Users:
- Open the eero app
- Tap the connected devices button. You can also view device usage by tapping the devices on your home screen.
I guess the Android app still lists real-time bandwidth the same as the iOS app used to. I wish the iOS app wasn't updated. The old app was functionally better. Sure the new app is more pretty, but I would prefer function over beauty.

I'm actively looking for an eero replacement unfortunately. I've had my 4 unit eero pro mesh system for 1.5 years and it's been extremely reliable and a very good performer in our large home. However, the lack of this feature AND more importantly, the lack of communication from eero about the status of this feature is what's motivated my search. Without this capability we are flying blind in management of our network. That's unacceptable.
I thought eero may have been cash strapped and that is what was hindering development. So when Amazon bought them I was actually hopeful that we'd see the feature implemented sooner rather than later. But it hasn't been and we've heard nothing. Very disappointing.

What is the current status on this request?
It seems Eero has gone backwards in this respect. Instead of showing network use for every host entry, you now have to go into the details of each host to see what it's doing. This is frustrating when trying to track down usage.
We should be able to monitor both in network and WAN (Internet) usage per host, in one screen that lists all hosts sorted by largest bandwidth usage.
Going one step further, would like to see the history of usage over a few days.
One step beyond that would be able to show bandwidth based on destination so we can answer the question "what service is driving my usage so high?" Is it Netflix, Backblaze, Amazon Prime, etc.?
The problem many are trying to solve is trying to keep below their ISP data cap. Without visibility into usage data it's difficult to figure out what is taking the bandwidth.

Who has given up hope that Eero will ever implement this feature with their current hardware? I have. There are many new Wifi 6 mesh options now available. Even though client devices that take advantage of Wifi 6 are currently sparse, that's the direction I'll be going in very soon. While my Eero mesh system has performed flawlessly for going on 2 years, I'm extremely disappointed they they haven't moved on what is a critical capability for their customers. They've steadily upgraded their software with "nice" features, but not this "critical" feature. Eero, the lack of this feature is costing your customers money!!!! This should be of dire concern to you. Priority number 1! But you've shown that it isn't.

Having to police data with my children is exhausting. In addition, I now have the added responsibility to police data usage. While that is not Eero's problem, I find it really difficult to influence my children's behavior if I do not know which devices are eating up all of my Internet bandwidth. I want to be able to stream 4k content and have access to all the latest games but Comcast has really put a damper on having a connected household with a 1024GB cap before penalizing us financially. Of course, now that schools are closed for over 6 weeks due to COVID-19, I'm very concerned that my data will overfill for stupid things like game downloads, game updates and streaming. With my frustrations for Comcast aside, I can adjust all of these settings and have done so with the best of my knowledge but it is difficult to know which devices are the culprit. In the past 24hours we have used over 100GB even after I have tried to prevent automatic downloads from our various systems and software programs.
Please help us.
It would be very helpful for me to have at least a comment that acknowledges this as a priority to Eero. If it is a priority, where does it stand in line with all other current priorities.

I'd also like some sort of way to track bandwidth, or at least get back to the old iOS View that showed immediate consumption for everything in one shot.
In the current context of Shelter in Place, there's a lot of work being done from home. When my work call suddenly starts dropping packets, I'd like to figure out if issue is due to another device starting a chatty network conversation.Having little to no visibility into that makes this really difficult to accomplish.

I'm...shocked this feature doesn't exist after two years of discussion. It's clearly already a stat that's tracked; why not make a simple grid table with host and current up/down and a sort toggle for each column?
I thought I'd replace my 1st gen google wifi with eero. This morning I was having some slowness so I went to see which device was consuming the bandwidth and eero can't do this? I mean I suppose I could manually click through each of the 43 devices on my network but...
Guess I'll be returning this and go back to my google wifi.

So in looking for this feature for our next wifi system it seems that Eero is off the list. We currently have an Orbi RBK50 and it also does NOT have this feature. Funny enough, on the Netgear forums there is a thread about just as long as this one. Looks like Google wifi is the only option.
You'd think during this work from home push we've had with the Coronavirus the vendors would push this since so many ISP's have monthly data caps (Cox, Comcast, Frontier, etc). I know Cox is waiving data caps through to 30 June 2020 but I'm sure they'll put them back in place.
Keep up the good fight and push Eero to implement the feature but until then I'll be switching to Google unfortunately

I'm working from home as well as streaming all of our TV and security systems through our connection. I have xfinity, which has a hard cap and a fee for overage. If Eero does not introduce this before I get penalized without having a way to track my usage, I'll definitely switch systems.
This was requested and even mentioned that it's being worked on 2 years ago. And still nothing? Unacceptable, especially when the competition had it long ago.

Worthwhile to consider the Meraki GO. They have this feature and have really been coming up with easy to manage products and more useful features than eero including 1) ability to control turning off and on 2.4ghz or 5ghz bands. 2) setup up to 4 SSIDs 3) plus much more. Only downside I see are 1) they don’t have a beacon style wall plugin 2) their fastest wifi speeds are equal to beacon with 2x2 antennas only.
