So very glad I checked in here first. So sad that such a fine product is stuck in the stone ages when it comes to IPv6 availability. Very important in my line of work. Adapt or die. Your competitor got my money. Wake up EERO!!!!

Wow!  eero finally delivered the goods.....

will wait for this weekend to re-setup the entire Comcast based rig.  Everything is in bridge mode currently.....

Well I was days away from purchasing my next system due to a large project that would require me to have IPv6 access from my home office so this is welcome news. I know I could have gotten another router and done bridge mode but the whole point of purchasing the eeros was not to have to think about my home wireless and now it is back to just working 🙂👍

Happy to report that IPv6 is activated and working like a charm. eero is back on my recommended for home list.

With IPv4, NAT and port forwarding allowed me to access devices on my internal network from the internet. With eero's IPv6 enabled, the access to these devices is no longer possible, apparently. After contacting eero support I was told that eero's current implementation of IPv6 does not have provisions for this kind of pinhole functionality. So...

1. erro, please consider this a feature request, so we can use the IPv6 address space to access devices on our internal network from the global network.

2. For anyone who may have previously setup IPv4 NAT and port forwarding, be aware that you'll have issues attempting this same functionality using IPv6.

I currently use Verizon and T-Mobile cellular home internet services. For these to work correctly using a secondary router, the router needs ipv6 passthrough/bridge mode to pass the ipv6 addressses to the secondary router. For example: with Verizon, I can run the gateway in ip passthrough mode and use it as a modem for my eero 6+ router. The problem is that even with ipv6 enabled, I can only get an ipv4 address using the eero. If I changed the eero from DHPC automatic to bridge mode, I can get both a ipv4 and ipv6 but I lose the router advantages and functionality provided by the eero. Other routers like ASUS have different ipv6 settings based off of your isp. One of them being ipv6 passthrough. I would really like to see this feature in future updates. I love the eero system but I’m missing out on being able to use ipv6 with my current isp. Thank you.
