Can I power cycle an eero system?

I have 2 homes and one of them is always unoccupied.  I started powering down my modem and routers at midnight for 3 minutes and it has solved almost all my issues at the unoccupied location (such as nest off line, etc.)_  My question is can I do that with the eero and not complicate things since my beacons won't be resetting?

  • I do something similar where my cable modem is plugged into an outlet timer that briefly cuts power at 4am every day. But I don’t have my eero connected to that, and I don’t see a need to. The eero devices are so incredibly solid that I’ve maybe had to manually power cycle once and I’ve owned eeros since the very beginning.

It could also potentially be a bad thing to automatically power cycle the eero at night. They roll out the automatic software updates over night and you wouldn’t want to restart your eero in the middle of one of those.

But, ultimately you should be able power cycle your gateway eero every day and it not cause any issues for your beacons.
